Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. Her family is the fourth Roberts family to have resided in Atlanta. The story began with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was an agriculturalist. The Robertses' father was interested in theater from a young time. While studying in Emory University in 1952 he was a part of productions at Emory University and elsewhere in Atlanta. In 1953, when he joined the Air force, he appeared with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. They got married in 1955. Their first child, Eric Anthony, was born in 1956. Walter was studying at Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957, the couple quit the Air Force and Walter started his education at Tulane University. Walter was a part of the Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio when they moved their family from Atlanta to Decatur in Georgia in the year 1960. Walter along with Betty Lou produced a Saturday matinee local TV show that was aimed at children, known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. It was a venture they self-financed. The following year, they started The Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for six years. Lelisa Billingsley often referred to as Lisa was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
