Harry Edward Styles, known in the world of music under the name Harry Styles, is a British music producer and songwriter who is regarded as one of the band members in the group One Direction. He was born in Holmes Chapel (Cheshire), England the 1st of February 1994, he's the son Des Styles, and Anne Cox. Harry Styles was a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School. In the school, three classmates of his formed a musical band called White Eskimo. The group won the Battle of Bands in 2009 because of their exceptional performance. The musician always had an interest in music but wanted to become the next lawyer or physical therapy. To support his family, he volunteered for a brief period of time working at a local bakery. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition in which he performed Stevie Wonder's song Is not She Lovely. Because of that, his band needed to be split. Nicole Scherzinger proposed to Harry Styles to become part of a new band, One Direction. The other members were Liam Payne Zayn Mallik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. The band's formation took place in the year 2010 and the five youngsters were sponsored by Simon Cowell. During the competition the band were singing songs like My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson and Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler so the group became one of the candidates for the prize. The group was placed in third spot in the competition, behind Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle which won. Harry Styles, his group and Cowell didn't win the race. But Cowell granted Harry Styles a 2 million dollar contract with Syco.
